Job Title: Dispatcher – Drayage & Container Operations

Location: On-site - Hodgkins, IL

Job Overview:

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Dispatcher to join our team, with experience in the drayage industry and container operations. Primarily seeking someone with strong dispatching skills who can learn the drayage and overweight (OW) permit processes. This is an in-person position offering paid vacation and health insurance benefits based on length of employment.

The hours are 9:00am-5:00pm.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and manage daily dispatch operations for drayage and container work.
• Ensure loads comply with Overweight (OW) regulations.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and port authorities to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
• Monitor routes, address any operational challenges, and provide timely solutions.
• Keep accurate records of shipments, permits, and compliance-related matters.
• Plan and manage drivers' schedules in advance to ensure optimal routing and minimize downtime.

Requirements:

• Experience in logistics, preferably drayage.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Willingness to learn about OW regulations, permit procurement, and drayage operations.
• Tech-savvy, with experience using dispatching or logistics software.
• Team player with the ability to work efficiently in a collaborative environment, coordinating closely with drivers and other team members.
