Emergency medical dispatcher coordinates the dispatch of emergency and on-emergency. Give instructions to the person in need before emergency services arrive if needed. Monitor and track the status of ambulance units. Synchronize responses with other communication centers.These are 12 hour dispatch shifts that allow dispatchers to have rotating weekends off. Pay periods begin on Mondays so you would begin you shifts working Monday and Tuesday then off Wednesday, Thursday. Work Friday, Saturday and Sunday then off Monday and Tuesday. Then work Wednesday, Thursday and off Friday, Saturday and Sunday.By this schedule you would work five 12 hour shifts in the first week and only two 12 hour shifts in the second week of each pay period.
