The dispatcher works directly with passengers and carriers and ensures that all runs are on time on the day of service.Responsibilities:Consistently review routes and adjust for efficiencyMaintain route productivity of spare useRespond to customer inquiries such as vehicle location, ETA, and ride times in a timely manner and maintain a standard call answer rateSchedule same-day changed transportation for customers, i.e., will-call serviceMonitor emails and handle them as appropriateProvide excellent customer serviceRelay changes to carriers with updated manifestsSchedule all unscheduled trips no less than one hour before scheduled windowsComplete all carrier transfersPerform data entry for non-MDC manifests as neededQualifications:In addition to all the requirements that are listed for the dispatcher position descriptionMinimum of one year of dispatching or scheduling experience or a year in customer service.Great knowledge of the Denver metro area and surrounding cities and the ability to read maps and give directionsExcellent customer service skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to assess a problem and resolve it using good judgmentExcellent detail-oriented skills, ability to multi-task, pay attention to detail, remain focused, and follow through with tasksEssential job functions:Ability to proficiently operate a Windows-based computer with a keystroke speed of no less than 35 corrected words per minuteAbility to communicate clearly in the English languageAble to utilize a standard business telephoneAbility to sit for extended periodsThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
