We take great pride in transporting our passengers to their desired destination. EMT serves organizations in the St. Louis, Missouri metro and surrounding areas, including neighboring areas in Illinois, as well as Cumberland, Maryland. These organizations include school districts, hospitals, doctor's offices, and more. We also transport individuals and families to and from appointments or simply when they need a ride.
Position Summary:
The Dispatch position is responsible for all aspects of routing and dispatching ambulatory, paralift and stretcher transportation Drivers including communicating pick up and drop off times, monitoring vehicle progress and status and making adjustments on the fly as needed.
Essential Functions:
- Dispatch trips to the most appropriate vehicle necessary to achieve the appointment time of the client.
- Monitor each vehicle's progress. Assist with client call backs in the event of late trips.
- Work with operators and supervisor to effectively manage trip volume.
- Alert supervisor of any problems related to the position and help determine adequate solutions.
- Prepare daily work and run schedules.
- Receives requests for trips from the company's customer service personnel or directly from clients and adds trip to the routing spreadsheet.
- Plan trips in the most effective and efficient route to maximize operator productivity.
- Maintain flexibility.
- Use radio, phone or computer to send crews, vehicles or other field units to appropriate locations.
- Continually update the HR department and General Manager as to the number of assets needed.
- Provides backup to and will act in the capacity of a Driver as needed during times of high trip volume or situations in which the company has a pressing need that cannot be filled by our team of available Drivers.

- Two years' experience in actively and effectively routing a group of operators.
- Technical proficiency with MS Office products such as Word, Excel, and Access, as well as desk and lap top computers, tablets, cellular and other devices.
- Must not have a driver's license suspension or revocation for moving traffic violations within the previous three years.
- May not have more than three traffic citations within the previous 36 months.
- Must pass a 10-panel drug screen.
Qualifications:
- Must have or obtain a DOT Medical Certification within 60 days of employment.
- Ability to compare data from a variety of sources for accuracy and completeness.
- Must be able to detect errors in the routes and process the knowledge to correct it.
- Ability to understand and apply current routing guidelines, system updates and revisions, and policy changes.
- Must be able to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to determine work priorities.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
