JOB OVERVIEW: Employee processes, schedules, and transmits instruction to truck drivers to transport finished products to customers in the mining and tunneling industries. Employee interacts with customers, sales staff, and plant management personnel to establish a working relationship with the customer base via mail, telephone, electronic, or personal communication to provide effective response to product/service inquiries and to address customer issues through research and resolution of complaints. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • Secondary School Diploma Required
  • One-to-Two (1-2) Years Dispatching or Customer Service Experience Preferred

  • Possess personable, outgoing communication skills to converse with diverse groups of people
  • Possess planning/detail-oriented organizational skills to prioritize work activities and use time efficiently to ensure work completion within required time frame
  • Possess customer service competency to respond promptly to internal and external requests for service and assistance
  • Possess quality control competency to self-monitor accuracy and thoroughness and apply feedback to ensure quality performance
  • Possess clerical perception to enter and verify dispatch/customer service transactions, with working knowledge of Microsoft Office and computerized dispatching system
  • Possess dependability to be consistently at work and on time
  • Possess a Team mentality with the ability to lead others and manage competing work demands
  • Possess light/medium (5-20 lbs.) lifting capability
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Process and transmit information and instructions to coordinate and dispatch truck drivers according to written schedules and work orders, or as required by emergency situations.
  • Advise truck drivers as to route information for new customers or unfamiliar delivery locations.
  • Monitor truck drivers' workloads and location assignments.
  • Ensure accuracy of truck drivers' time sheets and payroll summaries.
  • Maintain records and generate reports of mileage, fuel use, repairs and other expenses.
  • Answer customer inquiries and investigate customer complaints regarding transportation, delivery, or quality of company's products and services.
  • Arrange for refund, exchange, and credit for returned merchandise.
