Salary: $20.00 - $23.00 Hourly Location : North Myrtle Beach, SC Job Type: Part-Time Job Number: 00598 Department: Police Division: Communication/Detention Opening Date: 09/20/2024 Closing Date: 11/1/2024 11:59 PM Eastern General Statement of Job Under general supervision, receives and processes requests for law enforcement, Emergency Medical Services, and Fire, dispatching same to appropriate personnel for response to requests, ensuring calls are handled in a professional and timely manner. Acquires and maintains 911 Operator certification. Works under time sensitive, stressful conditions. Reports to the on-duty Supervisor. Minimum Training and Experience Education: High school diploma or GEDExperience: Certifications:

• Minimum age 18
• Good physical condition
• Vision correctable to 20/20
• Good character and reputation

Preferred:

• One (1) to two (2) years of experience
• Communications School Certification
• NCIC Certification

Note:

• The City retains the right to determine equivalencies.
• Any certifications not possessed at hire, must be obtained before the employee is removed from probation in order to continue employment with the City.

Physical Requirements Must be physically able to operate video equipment, an alarm panel and a variety of automated office machines which includes a computer, calculator, telephone, fax, etc. Must be able to exert up to twenty pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to ten pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Light work usually requires walking or standing to a significant degree. Must be able to lift and/or carry weights of ten to twenty pounds.
