About the job Dispatcher PM - SAN ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manifest Creation. Prepare Daily PM work and necessary run schedules.
- Act as main point of contact for driver, broker, agent, and at times even the customer, as loads are received or delivered to their destination.
- Work and effectively with drivers to coordinate Airport recoveries and deliveries.
- Work and effectively with Customer Service Team, Warehouse team, and other stations to schedule and execute shipment loads appropriately.
- Driver, Equipment and Daily Route Assignment.
- Keep Track of Driver Daily Progress, Safety and assist in monitoring HOS.
- Keep Track of Shipment Lifecycle, including but not limited to entering important driver and shipment updates into TMS and other required software.
- Clear and Effective Communication with internal and external customers to provide route instructions, updates, special service requirements, cut-off times, problems.
- Ensure and Assist with DOT, TSA and OSHA compliance processes and paperwork handling.
- Dispatch Administration Duties job document organization, labeling, record/ log keeping, emails and phone answering responsibilities, if needed.
- Material and Product management.
- Flag Potential Issues to re-route if necessary or get additional support/ equipment.
- Effectively communicate with respective team/ sister terminal locations to ensure freight is delivered safely, and on time.
- Ensure AM Team has everything they need for the next shift.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Update OSD notes and report to supervisor.
COMPETENCIES
- Strong understanding of all MS Office Programs, Freight operating systems such as AS400, Alpha Truck, TMW, Freight Data, etc.
- Strong Verbal, Written Communication and Phone Skills
- Relevant experience can include cartage, transportation, moving companies, customer service, logistics, linehaul, intermodal, warehouse, ground operations, and dispatching air and ocean service.
