Summary: The Order Picker is responsible for operating material handling equipment for the purpose of moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting merchandise. The Operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the forklift and may be required to perform other duties as assigned. The operator will also be requiring to pick, palletize and load outbound order. Key Duties/Responsibilities • Locates and moves products to pallets for storage or shipment. • Manually picks orders using handheld scanner and rider jack • Identifies damage, quality deficiencies and reports shortages. • Performs daily forklift pre-inspection checklist in accordance with established procedure and communicates any non-conformance to Maintenance. • Able to obtain and maintain valid forklift operator certification to operate Reach Truck and Pallet Jack (Rider Jack) • Follows the company's rules and procedures regarding behavior, quality, health, and safety. • Participates in Continuous Improvement activity and teamwork. • Flexibility to be cross trained and performs other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Proven experience as a Reach Truck and Pallet Jack operator • Attention to detail and familiarity with industrial warehouse equipment. • Ability to kneel, squat, stoop carry and stand for long periods of time • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English. • Ability to lift 80 lbs. repetitively and for 8 or more hours • Excellent attendance. • High school diploma Physical Requirements Ability to exert up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally and lift up to 80 lbs. occasionally/frequently. Strength and manual dexterity needed to move objects. Climbing, stooping, kneeling, reaching/pushing/pulling machinery. Hearing protection and safety shoes required.
