The primary purpose of this position is to directly manage the operations and development of the distribution center. This includes building up a well skilled and motivated team and collaborating with the relevant departments in VELUX to secure the best business results. Primary Functions:

  • Development of the distribution team with an aim to have a motivated, loyal team who is able to work efficiently. This includes all employee related activities including safety, selection, training, development, and performance evaluation.
  • Day to day management of the shipping and receiving team as well as delivery route truck drivers.
  • Performance management: Drive continuous improvements and support daily problem solving to reach KPI targets (Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost).
  • Responsibility for annual budgeting of expenses and performance to budget.
  • Management of the inventory control operations including physical inventory processes.
  • Responsibility for maintaining the building, property and equipment.
Starting Monthly Salary: $6500 - $8130 Compensation based on the skills and experience of the candidate. Qualifications:
  • An Associates Degree is required.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in shipping and receiving preferred.
  • Must possess the ability to successfully lead a team. Applied experience in Supervision or a leadership role would be beneficial.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills for both internal and external customers.
  • Applied computer skills in MS Office is a must. Proficiency in ERP system transactions preferred. A working knowledge of RF Smart, data collection system, would be beneficial.
  • Experience in physical inventory control processes is required.
  • Certified Forklift experience is required.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Must possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple project simultaneously.
  • Must present a positive and professional appearance.
  • Must possess an overall good work record and desire to work in a team environment.
  • Must be capable of lifting/reaching/stooping/climbing with weights up to 50 lbs.
  • Compliance with all rules of conduct, safety regulations, and policies provided in employee handbooks, on company bulletin boards/announcements, terms/conditions of employment or other means of communication is a requirement of the job.
