What You'll Do:In the role of DC Supervisor, you will be responsible for assisting the DC Manager in overseeing the physical receiving and distribution of specialty wire and cable products; ensuring the security and efficient operation of loading, unloading and inventory tracking; supervising and training DC associates dedicated to processing orders effectively and efficiently in a 5S model.Primary Responsibilities:•Processing daily orders to ensure 100% customer satisfaction. This hands-on job will require you to effectively manage multiple priorities throughout the day in the areas of receiving and shipping. Specifically, loading and unloading trucks, operating forklifts, operating wire and cable cutting machines, and other warehouse MEH equipment. •Supervises daily function of DC associates including work assignments and job responsibilities. Assists with employee training and development and ensures adherence of Safety Standards and SOPs. •Work closely with local and national sales team to ensure all customer orders requirements are met in a timely manner and meet all specifications in terms of product type and quantity. •Handles communication and shipping documentation with truck drivers responsible for pick-up and delivery of inventory.•Coordinates orders in the distribution center; assists DC manager in determining and/or enforcing priority codes for timely shipping of orders; checks orders for accuracy.•Support DC Manager with non-order related work (facilities management, safety, security, equipment maintenance, Inventory control, etc.).•Lead team in absence of DC Manager on an as needed basis, including but not limited to team leadership, timeclock requests, and facility maintenance.•Fill role of specific production area when volume dictates.•Open/close facility as needed.•Position will require you to be On Call as needed for emergencies orders.Work Experience What You'll Need:
  • 5-8 years of warehouse/inventory management experience.
  • Must be comfortable in a production environment where sense of urgency is high.
  • Must have strong communication skills and comfortable giving direction to both sales and distribution staff.
  • Ability to communicate successfully with multiple levels of the company.
  • Prior use of RF technology/ computerized WMS systems required.
  • Basic P/C or Computer proficiencies.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US, be a minimum of 18 years of age.
Bonus:
  • Knowledge of specialty and basic wire and cable products.
  • Experience with Wire and cable cutting/rolling machines, Cable jacks, Cable pulling eye compressors, Various saws and cutting tools.
  • Military training and/or experience.
  • Bilingual.
