Job Description :
Serves as primary distribution clerk, responsible for intake of raw material, finished goods, and packages for assembly plant. This person is skilled in all aspects of the Distribution department loading/unloading processes.What You'll Do
  • Serves as a role model for safety.
  • Receives, stores, and issues equipment, material, supplies, merchandise, tools, and compiles stock records in stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard
  • Understands company and department expectations/measurements and results including safety, profit sharing, errors, nonconformities, PADS, quality and material usage.
  • Produces reports and reads schedules to determine parts needed for production or outbound routes on a daily basis.
  • Requisitions necessary parts and coordinates delivery of finished goods and parts to shipping dock.
  • Utilize and be familiar with Frontier/ PMC and UI green screens.
  • Produces reports to determine customer orders for Finished Goods (FG), raw materials, semi-manufactured products, and parts. Requisitions ordered material and ensures necessary materials then loaded on the transfer trucks.
  • Reviews all carts for completeness and accuracy. ** This will expedite the delivery process**
  • Maintain neatness and organization of the staging/storage area.
  • Update the production plan: Shipped, Staged and unload status. Verify completion at all stages.
  • Communicate readiness of schedules to ship.
  • Understands the production flow, including within the glass plant, screens, and manufacturing lines.
  • Communicate/arrange for delivery of empty carts. Communication from Lamination, Tempering and Insulated Glass coordinators.
  • Update/maintain shipping log and/or Tier Board recordables.
  • Expedite missing schedules.
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of carts from the transfer trailers.
  • Maintain whiteboard's indicating schedules ready to ship and when they should ship.
  • Produces daily reports to document completion of work.
  • Must be accurate and efficient in performing all tasks.
  • Reviews production schedules and truck priorities to accurately track, organize and stage work for the departments. ** prioritize shipments**
  • Has the ability to read and interpret production tickets.
  • Help to diagnose probable causes in malfunctioning products and helps the department maintain an acceptable quality record.

  • Computer experience required
  • One year experience in Material Handling or Distribution
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word/Excel)
  • Professional communication skills via email/telephone.
  • Requires in-depth knowledge of Material Handling's procedures.
  • Current PGT ERP system and Microsoft Excel and Outlook computer applications knowledge a definite plus
  • Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written in English
  • Advanced math skills required
  • Logistical understanding and reasoning skills preferred

  • Occasional activity exists less than 1/3 of the time
  • Frequent activity exists 1/3 and 2/3 of the time
  • Ability to travel occasionally domestically
