Job Title: Distribution DesignerJob DescriptionTo perform detailed design work including the preparation of drawings, specifications, and estimates for review and approval by the responsible engineer.ResponsibilitiesPossess a thorough knowledge of practices and procedures in areas such as Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation and Control, Protective Relaying, Transmission Design, Substation Design, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Distribution Engineering, Surveying, GIS and Mapping, and CADD.Prepare manual or computer-assisted design and construction drawings of a complex nature with neatness and minimal errors.Perform design services requiring a full understanding of drawings, specifications, and industry standards.Take a role in the preparation of cost estimates, specifications, evaluations, and requisitions.Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations.Coordinate equipment deliveries and design development to meet project schedules.Acquire on-site field data to accomplish the design or to monitor and evaluate equipment performance.Essential SkillsProficiency in Autocad.Experience in Utility design and Electrical design.Knowledge of GIS, Distribution engineering, Civil engineering, CAD, Substation design, Transmission design, Mechanical design, Surveying, Protective relaying, and Instrumentation controls.Additional Skills & QualificationsAssociate Degree or the equivalent in a technical field preferred.Minimum of 2 years relevant experience required with no degree.Management may consider other education and work experience to be acceptable for appointment to this position.Demonstrated leadership and technical capability to perform job duties and responsibilities.Work EnvironmentIn-office with the opportunity for flex hours once trained.
