Summary
The Operations Manager will be responsible for the efficient day-to-day operations of all distribution operations, ensuring the daily production schedule is met and the finished packaged products are shipped to the customer on time and in full. This is accomplished through the safe and efficient management of personnel, equipment & production resources such as supervising and managing distribution supervisors and leads. Will communicate business goals, programs, and processes for the assigned business segment and manage the production budget.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Promote a safe working environment with exceptional leadership in all the company Environmental, Health and Safety Programs.
Oversee and manage the team, ensuring relevant procedures are followed according to company standards
Responsible for the daily safe, efficient, legal, and economical operations of distribution warehouses, repack, bulk handling, and transportation activities.
Assist the Regional Manger managing capital expenditure projects to increase productivity within distribution operations.
Assist and enforce corporate policy on health and safety, environmental affairs and operations standards at the branch level to include all training, documentation and records
Support sales efforts consistent with corporate and regulatory compliance, health, safety and environmental affairs
Assist and enforce branch health and safety program and conduct safety audits in conjunction with EH&S Manager or Regulatory Manager
Assist with implementation of regulatory compliance program
Responsible for maintenance, upkeep and housekeeping of areas covered within the areas of production which includes, buildings, equipment, tank farms and yards.
Maintain close security and control over physical operations and branch buildings, tank farms, grounds and equipment
Responsible for meeting customer requirements in a cost effective manner using appropriate risk
management in fulfilling orders
Develop and deliver job specific training criteria for branch staff
In conjunction with Quality Assurance Manager, assist with management of company quality process at
branch level
Working in conjunction with EH&S, assisting in waste area audits, giving oversight and control over waste
generation and waste pickup and compliance.
Day to day management of company yard fleet and its drivers
Assist in management of employees to include the hiring, firing, discipline, and development
Generate, monitor and adherence to department budgets
Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions and recommending action.
Manages daily interdepartmental transactions and adjustments. Will extract data and required reports from ERP system to track, monitor, troubleshoot electronic flow of information through the purchasing, inventory management, customer order management, and inter site logistics modules of the Chempax system.
Provides metrics for all distribution functions as required.
Maintains excellent communication and dialogue with sales, purchasing, customer service & the planning departments.

Education & Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Bachelor's Degree Business Administration, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited College/University or related field a plus.
Associate s degree from an accredited program or a combination of equivalent education, chemical /manufacturing experience may be substituted for educational requirement.
Minimum three (3) years of Operations experience
Minimum three (3) years Chemical distribution facility operations industry experience required.
Must have prior Supervisory experience of five (5) years in the production manufacturing, warehouse
environment and with progressing scopes of responsibility.
HazMat/HazWoper Certified is preferred
Required: In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations affecting facilities in area or responsibility
DOT experience that includes Hazardous Materials & compliance
High level of decision-making ability, balancing customer needs and company objectives.
Experience with enterprise business systems; Chempax or related ERP systems preferred
