Job Description :

The Distribution Operations Manager will oversee daily operations within the warehouse and distribution center at Nivel's Shreveport facility, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and safety in all processes. This role involves managing a team, coordinating logistics, optimizing workflows, and implementing best practices to meet company objectives. Overall accountability for directing the daily work and safety of employees engaged in receiving, returns, replenishing and storing inbound product, including all warehouse operations, receivers, and forklift drivers. Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships within the Distribution Center as well as within the broader Nivel Warehouse and Manufacturing system. Very strong leadership skills are required, including fostering an environment of teamwork and trust, all while delivering results for the organization. The following represents essential functions of the Distribution Operations Manager but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or re-assign duties and responsibilities at any time as needed.

  • Monitor and evaluate warehouse operations to ensure they meet established standards and goals. Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to optimize workflows, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency.
  • Oversee inventory control processes, including receiving, storage, picking, and shipping. Ensure inventory accuracy and manage stock levels to meet customer demand without overstocking.
  • Manage inbound and outbound logistics, including transportation scheduling, carrier management, and ensuring timely deliveries. Work closely with suppliers and customers to streamline supply chain operations.
  • Develop and manage the warehouse operations budget, controlling costs while maintaining high service levels. Track expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and report on financial performance.
  • Prepare and present operational reports to senior management. Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), track progress, and make data-driven decisions to drive continuous improvement.
  • Address operational issues as they arise, developing solutions to maintain workflow and minimize disruptions. Collaborate with other departments to resolve cross-functional challenges.
  • Direct and lead the daily work and safety of employees engaged in receiving, returns, replenishing and storing inbound product, including all warehouse functions, receivers, and day forklift operators.
  • Understand and use manufacturing and fulfillment technology (i.e. WMS where appropriate, hardware and software components) and maintains control of department functions and procedures.
  • Represent Nivel in a professional manner, promoting policies and programs, and approaching challenges in a positive manner.
  • Support internal projects across the Nivel network as required.
  • Proactively recognize and provide training and development as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience is required.
  • 7+ years of experience in a fast-paced distribution/fulfillment environment is required.
  • Proficiency operating Microsoft Office programs including AX preferred.
  • Ability to operate forklifts or other material handling equipment preferred.
  • Previous experience as a Superuser with Warehouse Management Software (WMS) and Transportation Management Software (TMS)
  • Experience operating and maintaining material handling equipment: Forklift, Man up Order Pickers, and electric pallet jacks preferred.
Supervisory Responsibility:
  • 10 hourly employees or more.
Key Skills and Abilities:
  • Previous experience in a Distribution setting is required.
  • Previous leadership experience in manufacturing or other fast-paced environment is required.
  • Proficiency in operating Microsoft Office programs, including AX preferred.
  • Ability to operate forklifts or other similar machines preferred.

  • Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds,
