JOB SUMMARY: Under general supervision, performs a variety of tasks associated with the loading and unloading of aggregate materials on board trains, barges and customer over the road dump trucks. Performs preventative maintenance on equipment as needed, operates small construction equipment in a distribution yard environment. ****Please note this is a seasonal position, up to 6 months.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 50% of job:
- Operate stationary plant equipment to safely and efficiently load/ offload train cars, and dump trucks.
- Acts as spotter for engine operator and is responsible for operational and safety duties that do not involve actual operation of the train.
25% of job:
- Perform general site maintenance including shoveling and repairs using power tools.
25% of job:
- Operate small construction equipment, i.e. clean up loader and water truck
