DutiesThis position provides oversight of the district's buildings and grounds, by identifying facility needs,organizing and prioritizing work, and completing general maintenance. In addition, this position ensures that routinemaintenance and repairs on, and within all buildings of the district are performed accurately and efficiently to keepthem in optimal working condition.QualificationsAbility to complete the maintenance needs of the district. The Maintenance Technician should haveefficient skills in performing the following activities: construction, maintenance, electrical and HVAC services. Must havea High School Diploma or equivalent, possess a valid driver's license, with 2-5 years of experience in buildingmaintenance and repair, carpentry, electrical, and plumbing. Must have ability to be on your feet for long periods oftime and be able to lift 50 lbs. and carry/ push/ pull 35 lbs. Ability to maintain good working relationships with fellowemployees and communicate respectfully/ courteously with students, parents, and staff.Salary/BenefitsAs per the local bargaining agreement; paid on a 260 day contract at salary base of $25/ hour($52,000), 90% covered Single Health Insurance, Life Insurance, partial IMRF retirement, 5 PL days, 13 sick days, and 10vacation days per year. Family insurance option available. (Additional experience may be considered.)Additional NotesEffective communicator, collaborator, and demonstrates the ability to take initiative and problem solve relatedto the maintenance needs of the facilities and grounds. Maintains current working knowledge of state and federalregulations relating to facility maintenance. Carries out the implementation of the maintenance plan and schedules.Coordinates the acquisition of specialized parts and supplies, maintains accurate reports and records, and respondsimmediately to emergency situations.
