Pentex Restaurant Group - Taco John's District Manager - Iowa Compensation: Starts @ $90,000 - or more depending on experience - PLUS 20% Bonus Potential AND Great Benefits! Status: Full-Time Exempt Requirement: Valid drivers license with acceptable driving record and travel to Iowa stores is required - Hiawatha, Cedar Rapids, Marshalltown, Muscatine, Le Mars, Coralville, and Mason City. Pentex Restaurant Group operates over 40 Taco John's locations in eight states (ND, SD, MN, MO, IL, WI, IA, and MT) with nearly 1,200 employees (and growing). We are the leading franchisee of Taco John's restaurants, and we own and operate 2 HuHot Mongolian Grill restaurants. We are growing, come and grow with us! Summary The District Manager in Iowa is responsible for the leadership of 7 Taco John's restaurant teams, with a focus on developing the leaders around them by utilizing a passionate focus on a people first culture. They are accountable for the delivery of excellent profitability results across the district and ensuring all business processes are upheld including financial controls, operational standards, and ensuring a supportive and positive environment is created for both team and guests. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate with Pentex Restaurant Group values in mind, serving as a role model for integrity, excellence, humility, and celebration
  • Develop leaders to achieve at the highest levels, creating a consistent talent pipeline and high internal promotion rates
  • Actively analyze business performance to celebrate winning results and identify opportunities for greater profitability; build monthly action plans for achievement
  • Ensure all business processes are upheld regarding financial controls, operations standards, policies and procedures, and customer service
  • Communicate in a way that inspires others in group settings both virtual and in person, as well as written and verbal
  • Act as the champion of change with new products, programs, and evolutions to ensure the team is authentically aligned
  • Ensure all assigned restaurants are following proper opening, closing, food safety and sanitation procedures, as well as maintaining cleanliness and performing preventive maintenance
  • Take responsibility for compliance with Pentex Restaurant Group (PRG) and Taco John's International (TJI) brand standards
  • Lead a culture of respect, positivity, fun, and supporting one another that is reflected in all restaurant leadership
  • Strategically schedule visit cadences that ensure effective monthly financial, people, and development meetings
  • Serve as the lead to establish vendor relationships as necessary, evaluating existing vendors for maximum profitability
  • Partner with peer District Managers, Human Resource, Finance, Construction, and Training teams to work collaboratively at the speed of trust
  • Lead the operational opening of new stores, relocations, and remodels
Qualifications & Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years in a multi-unit leadership position required
  • Previous experience opening new stores required, preferably in a franchise environment
  • Previous QSR Drive Thru experience
  • Highly effective in recruiting strategies and staffing stores in the current retail landscape
  • Advanced understanding of QSR restaurant operations with all people and financial metrics
  • Capable and experience with PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Teams technology
  • Passionate about working side by side with store teams in a hands-on way when supporting
  • Belief in the power of a team and in teaching others how to achieve their potential
  • Highly organized with a specialty in follow through and execution amidst change
  • Ability to act strategically to balance schedule needs across multiple stores when challenges arise
  • Expertise in time management and prioritization allowing for a quarterly planning process
  • ServSafe certification required
