HR-Payroll / Business Office

8 Hrs/Day, 240 Days/Year

2024-25 School Year

REPORTS TO: Executive Director of Human Resources

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* High school diploma or equivalent

* Proven ability to contribute to a positive, high paced work environment

* Previous interaction with the public in an office or school setting

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Word processing skills upwards of 60 wpm.

* Strong computer skills with knowledge of spreadsheets, work with web pages and web forms, email, Adobe files, Excel, Word, and Skyward fiscal/student data system or similar financial program.

* Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality, work under pressure, organize and set priorities, and exercise independent judgment.

* Function in a calm, efficient, fair and courteous manner under frequent interruptions.

* Strong ability to accurately perform mathematical calculations and estimations.

* Knowledge of proper grammar, spelling, and English language usage.

* Work as a positive, contributing team member in a great office setting.

* Experience with State and Federal Reporting in an Human Resources environment.

* Experience with Federal & State required postings.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (District reserves right to test skills).

* Knowledge of Google applications.

* Knowledge of MS Office Applications.

* Knowledge of basic website maintenance.

* Knowledge of OSPI Education Data System (EDS).

* Knowledge of ReadySub (Absence & Substitute), our substitute calling & employee absence management system, or similar program.

* Knowledge of WA State Archive - File Retention rules and practices.

* Knowledge of online training system administration and reporting.

* Highly skilled at organization, prioritization, and coordinating workload.

* Skilled at working with staff to understand payroll, benefits, contracts, and other details as needed.

* Skilled at developing and maintaining district handbooks.

* Ability to understand and apply account codes via a Chart of Accounts.

* Ability to maintain confidentiality and run background checks.

* Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

* Ability to research and apply WA State RCW & WAC laws.

* Ability to perform basic accounting functions such as bank reconciliations, account reconciliations, and journal entry preparation.

* Maintain office inventory, including ordering.

* Ability to establish and maintain positive rapport with staff, students, families, and the general public.

* Ability to work with persons of all ages and treat them with dignity and respect.

* Good attendance is essential.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Work with district office and business office staff to complete various reports, lists, data entry, and other records as needed.

* Program administration and upkeep of substitute calling system and online training program.

* Assist with maintenance of confidential files, hiring process, payroll data entry, verification of hours, certification records, wage and salary schedules and personnel correspondence.

* Financial and Human Resources file retention records room.

* Answer and respond to telephone and in-person inquiries, routes calls to appropriate staff as needed.

* Assist with other business, payroll, personnel and district duties as required.

Salary Range: 2024-25 Salary Range $29.21 - $32.88 per hour, depends on experience

BENEFITS:
