Job Summary:
Serve as the Division Chief for Psychology.
The Chief of Psychology will work collaboratively with other Division leaders in the department including Psychiatry, Social Work, Nursing and Research.? ?Chief of Psychology will also unite a diverse group of psychologists within and across several departments/specialty areas in the academic medical center, and will advocate for Psychology as a profession within Upstate.?
The Division of?Psychology is proud of its APA-accredited predoctoral internship training program. Faculty in the Division also contribute to other training programs within the department, including medical education, psychiatry residency, child psychiatry fellowship, social work internship, and nurse practitioner fellowship. The Chief of the Division will work closely with the Directors of these training programs to support their work and that of the involved psychology faculty members.
Minimum Qualifications:
PhD or PsyD in Clinical Psychology from APA-approved program; NYS license required.
Experience working in an academic medical center setting in a leadership role; Demonstrated excellent clinical, training/teaching and leadership skills;?Demonstrated ability to create and execute a successful clinical specialty program in any area of child or adult mental health; Evidence of experience and expertise in mentoring junior faculty; A track record of promoting diversity and inclusion.
Candidate should meet criteria for appointment to the College of Medicine faculty at the rank of Associate or Full Professor
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with clinical research is preferred. ??
?Clinical expertise in the areas of Eating Disorders, Community Mental Health, Geriatrics, Child and Adolescent, Health Psychology, Family Therapy, Parent-Child relationships, ADHD or Psychological Assessment will be given priority.??
