DOC Western CC Carpenter - State of Illinois : Job Details

Illinois Department of Corrections is looking to add a journeyman-level carpenter to their Maintenance team located at Western Illinois Correctional Center. This individual should be able to estimate jobs, materials, and time as well as prioritizing these tasks in accordance with the needs of the facility. They will ensure the duties are completed in a safe and organized manner. All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply. Essential Functions Performs carpentry work in the repair, maintenance, construction, or alteration of walls, roofs, ceilings, stairs, floors, benches, doors, windows, desks, chairs, or other similar facility structures. Works in the Carpenter Shop. Sharpens tools and performs maintenance on equipment used. Performs maintenance and repair on buildings and equipment while instructing individuals in custody crew members on carpentry.
