The firm is seeking a seeking a full-time experienced Docket Clerk to become part of the Managing Attorney's Office. The Docket Clerk/Legal Assistant will be expected to interact professionally with administrative staff and lawyers. This is a non-exempt position with a hybrid work schedule and reports to Counsel, Managing Attorney. The ideal candidate will have a strong client service ethic, the ability to work effectively as a member of a team.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Entering data into the firm's docketing and calendaring system.
  • Performing electronic court filings in federal, state and appellate courts.
  • Monitoring cases and retrieving documents with the use of various online resources.
  • Assisting with authentication of documents for use in foreign countries.
  • Responding to inquiries about firm's past experience with experts and outside counsel.
  • Assisting with maintenance of corporate diary.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of docket clerk or paralegal/legal assistant experience at a law firm or in-house legal department.
  • Experience with Case Management System such as CourtAlert or MA3000.
  • Familiarity with Westlaw and/or Lexis
  • Familiarity with CPLR and Fed. R. Civ. P. as pertinent to docketing and calendaring.
  • Experience with document review.
  • Familiarity with Outlook, Word, Excel.
  • Data entry experience.
  • Ability to learn and retain detailed information about court procedures and documentation
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines and the ability to work well under pressure.
