Job Description ASRC Federal Technical Services is seeking a Java Developer to join our team that supports the Federal Aviation Administration in Egg Harbor Township, NJ. SUMMARY Works independently with minimal supervision. Possesses experience in procedural requirements for satisfying the areas of documentation and configuration management. Provides expertise in data entry, document generation, and document storage and maintenance in FAA standardized word processing applications. Possesses knowledge and experience of FAA documentation formats, conventions and terms that are used for production of System Support Directives, handbooks, notices, and other documentation required to support the NAS and NAS support systems. Must be experienced and knowledgeable with automation systems used for numbering, recording, documenting, tracking and reporting NAS systemstatus and procedures. Demonstrates proficiency in computer graphics and Commercial-Off-The- Shelf (COTS) publications applications. Provides expertise in configuration management procedures and standards for NAS and NAS support systems and development of related policy and procedures. Develops, writes, and edits technical material for reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, instruction books, catalogs, and related highly technical and administrative publications concerned with work methods and procedures. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Creates clear, concise and accurate documentation including user manuals, technical instruction books, maintenance handbooks and system support directives.
- Update and maintain documents relevant to active projects to ensure the documents are kept current
- Collaborate with developers, testers and subject matter experts to collect technical information to develop documentation
- Manages multiple versions of documentation to ensure accuracy across updates and configuration control.
- Administer and document procedures for configuration management of documentation.
- Update technical documentation to reflect changes in products, software, hardware or procedures.

- High School Diploma or GED required and a minimum eight (8) years of related experience OR
- Associates Degree with a minimum of six (6) years related experience OR
- Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of four (4) years related experience.
- US Citizenship or documented proof of eligibility to work in the US
- Has been living in the US for at least the past 3 years
- Successful candidate is subject to a background investigation by the government and must be able to meet the requirements to hold a position of public trust
- Understand and have working knowledge of FAA second level engineering documentation
- Knowledge of different types of technical documents used by second level engineering
- Proficiency using Microsoft Word and Visio
Preferred
- Ability to update various configuration management and process improvement documentation
