Job Description :
Sawtooth Concepts is looking for a Drafter to create detailed drawings of custom cabinets for construction projects.This is a Full-Time position 7:00am-4:00pm (Mon-Fri) with some opportunity for overtime.   • Create 2D and 3D shop drawings for submittal to the customer, designer, and/or architect
  • Support project estimating with material, hardware, and specialty material costs
  • Update shop drawings per customer, designer, and/or architect comments
  • Update shop drawings with field-verified dimensions
  • Provide complete, detailed, and accurate drawings to manufacturing operations
  • Prepare production information (e.g. drawings, cut lists, BOM) providing the necessary information for programming, machining, and assembly operations
  • Support production, manufacturing, and installation throughout the project
  • Provide detailed drawings for use in purchasing outsourced product
  • Maintain a library of standard design, drawings, and specifications
  • Work directly with shop floor personnel on issues and manufacturing concerns, ensuring continuous product and process improvements
  • Operate a variety of standard and specialty woodworking equipment: hand, power, and pneumatic tools
  • Operate a variety of woodworking powered machinery: edge bander, doweler, CNC router, and panel saw
  • Maintain tools and machinery and escalate problems requiring service
  • Assemble cabinet parts with glue, screws, staples, and other fasteners
  • Perform quality checks and stage assembled cabinetry and components for storage or shipping
  • Restock parts and hardware, unload, sort, and put away materials in the shop
  • Clean and maintain shop work areas, including machinery and tools, to ensure a safe working environment
  • Perform other assigned tasks and requirements as assigned
We're Looking For:
  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience
  • 2 years of experience using CAD, Cabinet Vision or similar CAD/ CAM a plus
  • Hand sketching and SketchUp experience is a plus
  • Production Coach experience is a plus
  • Cabinetmaking experience in a production environment or other closely related production woodworking experience
  • Knowledge of commercial and residential construction principles, documents, techniques, and procedures
  • Ability to effectively present information
  • Demonstrative skills in organizing and evaluating information
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to read and understand architectural plans and specifications
  • Knowledge of software programs including Microsoft Office Suite and CAD/ CAM
  • Must be a highly motivated problem solver capable of developing solutions and seeing them through to completion
  • Ability to work well with a team
  • Strong mathematics skills
