Job Title: DrafterJob DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled Drafter to join our team. The Drafter will be responsible for developing engineering drawings and layouts from predetermined designs, drawing preliminary sketches, documenting specifications for parts, assemblies, and installations, and occasionally creating new or modified designs. This role requires a strong understanding of CAD drafting techniques and the ability to visualize and draw complex designs.
Responsibilities- Develop simple layouts of engineering drawings from predetermined designs.
- Draw preliminary sketches of proposed products or projects.
- Document specifications for parts, assemblies, and installations with guidance from a Designer or Engineer.
- Develop moderately complex layouts of engineering drawings from predetermined designs.
- Perform advanced detail drafting and occasionally provide first sketches.
- Create and release Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).
- Develop bills of material and related information.
- Occasionally create new or modified designs for new or existing products.
- Recommend modifications and changes for design improvement and/or simplification.
Essential Skills- 1 - 5 years of 3D CAD drafting experience.
- Experience with Creo preferred.
- Ability to manipulate complete sets of routine drawings, including multiple views, cross-sections, detail drawings, and assembly drawings.
- Proficiency in standard drafting and CAD drawing techniques.
- Ability to visualize and draw design features requiring mid-high level drafting skills.
- Regular use of mathematical equations, including elementary algebra and geometry.
- Ability to kneel, bend, stoop, reach, and climb around shop equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- 2-Year Associate Degree related to CAD preferred; High School diploma acceptable.
- Hands-on experience with tasks such as changing spark plugs, operating lawn mowers, and basic understanding of vehicle motors.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to communicate well across teams and send professional emails.
- Experience with MRP software is beneficial.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is advantageous.
Work EnvironmentThe work environment includes a cubical setup situated near supportive team members. The office is air-conditioned and modern, located above the assembly area where products are built. The facility is medium-sized with around 700 employees operating across three shifts per day. This position is for the 1st shift. The work involves sheet metal parts and assembly drawings, with minimal casting work and some plastic components. Employees have the opportunity to work overtime based on personal preference and can enjoy a positive and collaborative environment with opportunities for growth and mentorship. Full-time benefits and eligibility for company bonuses are available upon transitioning to a full-time role
