Job Summary:As a member of a global drafting department, the Mechanical Drafting/CAD Technician I will assist in the creation, revision, and storage of electronic drawing files using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD for custom-designed process equipment at various Client Optical Fiber and Cable manufacturing locations worldwide. The primary responsibilities include supporting the drafting lead in completing all required tasks for engineering and development drawing sets prior to their release into the system (Autodesk Vault). This role involves creating and editing 3D models and associated drawings in accordance with company drafting standards, focusing on detail, sheet metal, weldment, and assembly drawings.Key Responsibilities:

Correct redlined models and drawings issued by the drafting lead or engineering/development teams.

Convert legacy hand-drawn and AutoCAD drawings into 3D models and associative drawings.

Create 2D drawings from existing 3D models provided by other users.

Work Environment:

• This position is contract-based through a third party, typically lasting one year with the possibility of extension based on performance and project workload.
• A hybrid work schedule is available, allowing for remote work 3-4 days per week.
• Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with a target of 45 hours per week; overtime may be required.

Required Education:

• Candidates should possess one of the following, although other technical degrees with demonstrated drafting skills will be considered:
• A.A.S. in Mechanical Engineering Technology
• A.O.S. in Drafting/CAD
• Drafting Certificate/Certification
• Candidates without degrees must demonstrate proficiency in 2D and 3D drafting.

Required Experience and Skills:

• No prior experience required.
• Awareness of ASME/ANSI drafting standards.
• General proficiency in Windows-based computer skills.
• Minimal experience with Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Vault software is preferred.
• Ability to adapt to company standards and guidelines.
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
