Drafting / CAD Technician - The Fountain Group : Job Details

The Fountain Group is currently seeking an Drafting / CAD Technician for a prominent client of ours. This position is located in Painted Post, NY. Details for the position are as follows: Job Description:

• Pay: Starting at $32 to $35HR.
• Shift hours: (1st Shift) 8:00am to 5:00pm - Monday through Friday (Onsite) .
• 6 month assignment - possibility to extend or convert based off performance and budget. (No guarantees).
• Encompasses the use of integrated systems for computer-aided design used for the systematic representation and dimensional specification of extrusion dies, as well as, occasional production tooling and equipment.
• Utilizes CAD digitizing techniques and skills.
• Prepares and maintains CAD models and drawing packages.
• Collaborate closely with engineers and supervisors, taking direction to fulfill project requirements.
• Engage in longer-term routine-based tasks.
• Create and modify 3D CAD models and drawings using SolidWorks.
• Develop comprehensive drawing packages, including managing redlines and revisions.
• Handle process and die tracking through spreadsheets and updating tracking systems.
• Perform admin duties for PDMWorks.
• Provide drafting support for non-die components.
• Manage legacy print obsolescence.
• Conduct CAD audits and ensure DARM compliance.
• Create and manage technical documentation, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
• Offer support to the shop floor as needed.
• Provide support for various assigned tasks and projects as needed.
• Multitask effectively, managing several projects simultaneously without compromising on quality.
• Maintain high attention to detail in all aspects of work.
• Implements standard procedures and proposes intermediate level modifications to improve workflow.

Qualifications:

• Associates Degree required.
• Experience with 3D CAD modeling, particularly in SolidWorks.
• Strong capability in handling drafting packages, redlines, revisions, and documentation management.
• Proven ability to follow stringent processes and compliance standards.
• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and manage multiple tasks.
• Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to take direction well.
• Flexibility to provide support as needed across different areas.
• 3 years prior experience with 3 years SolidWorks exp.
• Intermediate level technical understanding.
• Able to gather information independently using established and defined procedures.
