Driver - Construction Industry - Pumford Construction : Job Details

Pumford Construction, Inc. is currently in need of a CDL A heavy haul driver to transport material and equipment to and from various construction job sites.

This job requires a current CDL A; Lowboy experience preferred. All trucking is lower Michigan and overnight trips are not required.

Duties and Responsibilities:• Drive truck with capacities greater than 3 tons, including tractor-trailer combinations, to transport and deliver materials and/or equipment.• Secure cargo for transport, using ropes, blocks, chain, binders, or covers.• Inspect loads to ensure that cargo is secure.• Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.• Load or unload trucks or help others with loading or unloading, using special loading-related equipment or other equipment as necessary.• Provide top notch customer service.• Function always with a safety-first mentality.• Basic understanding and knowledge of building materials• Must be willing to learn the tools and equipment of the construction trade.• Must be dependable and show up on time for all assignments.• Willing to work weekends and overtime as required.• Support our company values in the stated areas of Safety, Customer Focus, Teamwork, Integrity, and being a Company of Choice for both employees and customers.

Qualifications:• High School Diploma or GED preferred.• Valid Commercial Driver's License Class A with air brakes.• Clean driving record for past 3 years.• Ability to pass pre-employment DOT physical and drug screen.• Previous experience in a construction trucking environment a positive.
