Job Summary:
The Driver is responsible for transporting riders based on manifest provided for their assigned route. The Driver is to provide transportation to and from Harbor House and/or non-emergency medical transportation. The Driver will identify needed vehicle maintenance, complete daily and weekly checklist, maintain required documentation, keep updated on all Department of Transportation regulations.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Requires experience in the execution of the daily operations of the programs and services covered by Medicaid Waivers serving individuals in a community setting instead of institutionalized. Experience working with Michelle P, SCL, and HCB waivers.
Experience working with electronic health records systems, such as Oasis.
Detail orientated individual required for this position.
Required: Training in First Aid and CPR, and participate in ongoing training provided by/for Harbor House employees.
Primary Responsibilities:
Follow routes and transportation schedules for those on the wavier that need
transportation to and from day program and if need non-emergency medical appointments.
Maintain manifest sheets on daily transportation.
Complete weekly and daily checklist of vehicle condition.
Keep updated on all Department of Transportation regulations.
Maintain routine and emergency maintenance on vehicles.
Ensures cleanliness of vehicle on a daily basis.
Maintain documentation as required by DOT.
Work with the Transportation Manager to develop policy and procedures for transportation.
Promotes Harbor House mission, values and goals.

Education and Training:
High School Diploma.
Be twenty-five (25) years of age or older.
Have no more than two (2) convictions for moving violations in last three (3) years.
Completed Drug and Alcohol Training.
Complete Passenger Safety Training.
Has acceptable background check with no convictions of a felony
Able to communicate effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities and their parents/guardians.
Has valid driver's license.
Has auto insurance that is currently in force.
Be available and willing to work split-shift
Physical Requirements:
Will be subject to varying external environment dependent upon current weather.
Ability to lift approximately 20 pounds.
