Job Summary:
Metronet and Vexus Fiber is looking for a professional, reliable, and highly motivated individuals to join our underground fiber drop bury crew! A Drop Bury Fiber Tech is responsible for the efficient and precise installation, maintenance, and repair of fiber optic cables for Fiber to the Home connections.
Requirements:
* Provides the customer with the best service and promotes a good relationship between the customer and company.
* Must convey a positive and professional appearance and demeanor when communicating the company's products and services to the customer.
* Verify that all locates are completed before any task is to be performed.
* Any and all follow up work needing to be performed needs to be reported to the manager.
* Be able to work closely with Dispatch and Project Managers for assignment of work load.
* Be able to record signal levels, daily times, function codes and any additional system specific required.
* Maintain a clean and organized company vehicle/ drop bury equipment.
* Assists other team personnel in the performance of their duties when requested to help the team approach a problem-solving environment.
* Be able to install new service cable drops, and replace existing cable drops.
* Have the ability to use a burial or machine trenching.
* Complete sidewalk and driveway bores, including the use of boring attachment.
* Be able to repair, replace, or re-route drops along with permanent underground drop replacement.
* Have the ability to remove any old drops on site when necessary and all restoration to customer satisfaction.
* Other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements:
* Ability to work outside in extreme heat, cold or rain.
* Must be able to lift, handle, and carry 80-pound.
* Carry a 28-foot extension ladder and meet ladder safety requirements. (Standard heavy duty ladder body weight restrictions are 275 pounds, extra heavy-duty ladder body weight restrictions 350 pounds)
* Must be able to work at heights of 3-28 ft.
* Must be able to bend, stand, sit, crawl, climb, and lift throughout each day.
* Must be able to work in tight spaces, such as crawl spaces
* Be able to operate a vehicle, drop bury machine, hand tools, power tools, ladders, signal level meters, volt meters, converters, cable locators, leakage detection devices, and other test equipment.

Qualifications:
* High school diploma or equivalent (required)
* Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
* Must pass a pre-employment drug screening
* Must pass a criminal background check
* Technical knowledge such as computer skills
* Ability to handle multiple issues simultaneously
* Successful completion of training and/or telecommunications certification programs is a plus
* Must be highly motivated, detailed oriented and a team player!
