Drop Count AttendantSUPERVISOR: Drop Team Supervisor EXEMPT (Y/N): NOCLASSIFICATION: Key EmployeeSUMMARY:Under general direction from the Drop Team Supervisor, safeguards the assets of the casino by removing, exchanging, collecting and accurately dropping cash boxes from slot machines, table games and kiosks in accordance with established policies, procedures and gaming regulations.This list of duties and responsibilities is illustrative only of the tasks performed by this position and is not all-inclusiveESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prepares the casino for drop by placing empty cash boxes at each designated location.
  • Removes cash boxes from designated machines; transports funds and tickets to the Drop room according to established policies and procedures.
  • Operates, troubleshoots and maintains currency sorting machines.
  • Drops and straps currency, coins and tickets; prepares all required paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Verifies funds balance to totals and gives funds over to cage cashier.
  • Assists patrons with general information upon request.
  • Performs drop and Drop procedures in accordance with Gaming and Company Regulations and Departmental Policies and Procedures.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements and policies and procedures, in all areas, at all times.
  • Safeguards company assets by keeping track of keys and security access cards.
  • Attends and participates in regularly scheduled staff meetings.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information.
  • Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required.
  • Performs other duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • One (1) year cashiering experience preferred.
  • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. No felony or stealing convictions.
  • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of basic math and operate a ten key adding machine.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, background investigation, obtain and maintain Gaming License.
  • Tribal preference.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of basic accounting, math, and record keeping practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of business English, proper spelling, grammar and punctuation and basic arithmetic.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to complete and pass Title 31 training and assessment.
  • Ability to operate a calculator, adding machine, currency counting and sorting machines.
  • Ability to interact and maintain good working relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with co-workers at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and meet strict time lines.
  • Ability to make solid decisions and exercise independent judgment.
TRIBAL PREFERENCE POLICY:Members of the Jena Band of Choctaw Tribe shall be given absolute preference with respect to hiring, promotions, training, contracting and separation from employment.   • All others who satisfy the minimum job qualifications.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Ability to push, pull and lift 50 to 200 lbs.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • The employee is required to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.

KEYS:As requiredWORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Work is generally performed in an office and casino setting with exposure to second-hand smoke and a high noise level.
  • Employees may have frequent contact with the public and be exposed to moderate/high noise levels, dirt, dust, unpleasant odors and second-hand smoke.
  • Prolonged sitting,standing, walking, or/and extended work hours including holidays and weekends may be required.
  • Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.
  • Tight time constraints and multiple demands are common.
