- Minimum 10 years experience with underground high voltage ductbanks, including cabling and telecom underground type work
- Experience with high voltage systems, including aerial and buried bypasses, customer cut overs, etc.
- Create/Monitor 3 week schedules and 90 day schedules in coordination with Area Manager and other disciplines
- Identify issues early and provide mitigation plans
- Assist and train junior superintendents and project/field engineers
- Assist with any permit requirements for isolations, transfers, cut-overs, bypasses
- Responsible for site housekeeping. Ensure safety inspections are completed.
- Ensure JHA and pre-dig's are completed
- Enforce and monitor DHOJV safety/quality/environmental policies
- Setup pre-activity meetings for all operations and review lessons learned
- Monitor/Ensure use of Quality ITP and Checklists
- Prepare/Review Workplans with all workers, including subs
- Coordinate construction activities with other superintendents and subcontractors
- Review work notification materials prior to submission and ensure it is provided on time
- Monitor all notices required for work to start
- Monitor scope changes and enforce contract language on site. Coordinate with cost department to ensure accuracy
- Track costs and be accountable
- Review drawings and provide constructability input. Communicate design issues through internal process
- Setup internal walkdowns and identify punchlists, and enforce clean subcontract close-out
- Participate in write-ups for tender documents by providing constructability input
- Attend meetings as required
Dry Utilities Field/Project Engineer Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years experience with dry utilities
- Ability to read high voltage and telecom drawings
- Ability to perform take-offs in Bluebeam/Excel
- Able to be in the field 6-8 hours a day minimum and support the crews
- Ability to clearly communicate with foremen, provide construction sketches and explanations on the work requirements
- Prepare workplans and take-offs
- Complete all ITP and checklists or assist foremen/sub in doing so
- Coordinate all necessary closures, isolations, service interruptions with multiple parties
- Track daily cost
- Update redline drawings daily/weekly
- Able to understand components for different types of materials related to dry utility works and able to communicate clearly with subs and suppliers
- Coordinate with design team on shop drawing and material approvals
- Verify and approve all invoices and monthly subcontractor's invoices
- Attend meetings as required
