ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintains open lines of communication with interested parties.
  • Plans and implements 1:1 instructional session and/or group activities for persons receiving services.
  • Provides appropriate and positive role model and reinforces persons receiving services appropriate behaviors and expressions of emotion.
  • Establishes priority objectives in the form of an Individual Service Plan.
  • Provides consistent, goal-oriented programming.
  • Maintains accurate client files and required records and adheres to established deadlines.
  • Completes semi-annual reports to include updates, evaluation, and recommendations.
  • Completes daily case notes, timesheets, office hours log sheets, and mileage log sheets.
  • Coordinates and/or provides transportation for each client's program.
  • Exercises independent judgment on continual basis within guidelines, working towards achievement of established goals of persons receiving services.
  • All other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Regularly required to stand; twist; walk; bend; lift; use hands; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and see and hear and communicate with sufficient acuity to successfully perform all aspects of the job. The employee may be required to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to demonstrate manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and perform simple grasping. Reasonable accommodations will be provided as needed.
  • Must be able to assist persons being served with transferring in/out of vehicle as necessary in the performance of the job.
  • A reasonable accommodation will be made as outlined by law.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Experience and/or training, beyond the high school level in human services or a related field, providing direct services to persons with developmental disabilities.
  • The ability to communicate effectively through both written and oral expressions.
  • Experience in positive intervention and ability to implement non-aversive positive behavior management techniques.
  • Personal vehicle and current liability insurance. However, some staff that do not drive or have a personal vehicle will be compensated with a bus pass or allowed to drive a company vehicle.
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends.
PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
  • Valid CA Driver's License and clear DMV driving record.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificates or ability to obtain within two months of employment.
  • A post offer, pre-employment fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice and/or FBI
  • Must be able to pass drug screening, medical exam and negative TB screening.
  • Proof of COVID Vaccination and Booster shot, as mandated by Department of Disability Services and CA Department of Public Health
  • It is recommended that staff be tested and inoculated for Hepatitis B.
Reports To: Assigned Department Manager Department: Client Services Monday-Friday, hours vary! 15-30 hours a week. Monday-Friday, hours vary! 15-30 hours a week.
