The Fort Bragg community is incredibly supportive of all school activities and events and donates generously to programs and scholarships.Job SummaryJOB SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the Community Schools Coordinator and School Principals, the Bilingual Family Liaison assists parents and students with school procedures and concerns. Requirements / QualificationsESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THIS POSITION: 1. Serves as a school liaison to parents 2. Answers questions via the telephone, email and in person 3. Assists parents in accessing the necessary resources and school programs to assist their children in being successful in school 4. Explain school policies, rules and regulations in response to inquiries and refer inquiries to appropriate school personnel 5. Performs a variety of clerical duties in the school office 6. Helps complete reports to both state and federal agencies within the deadline 7. Provides both oral and written translations when needed at meetings, home visits, in the office, and on the telephone 8. Other related duties as assigned by the site and district administration in support of the Community Schools program and other school functionsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: (Education and Experience) * High School Education or Equivalent * Ability to interact effectively in Spanish and English, both written and verbal, with students, staff, parents, and the public * Successful passage of District Bilingual Assessment * Maintains high level of confidentiality and integrity * Establishes and maintains effective relationships with students, staff and community * Knowledge of basic office procedures * Able to use a computer for a variety of functions including but not limited to use of the AERIES student information system, Google applications, word processing, and data entry * Ability to attend evening parent meetings
