Job Summary This position will represent the Accounting department and work as a key member of the E-Billing team while providing full-service support to attorneys on all E-Billing questions and all E-Billing matters. With limited supervision, the E-Billing Coordinator will liaise with attorneys and staff to make sure changes are made accurately and in a timely manner, while partnering with account services and billing to fully understand the details and make sure best practices and billing guidelines are followed. Essential Functions
- Work with Billing Supervisor to ensure e-bills are prepared accurately in accordance with clients' outside counsel policies.
- Obtain matter reference numbers from clients.
- Submit timekeeper data to clients.
- Create new e-files in the required Legal Electronic Data Exchange Standard (LEDES) format, etc.
- Submit e-bills to clients and verify successful transmissions.
- Prepare appeals for rejected invoices and troubleshoot to resolve all issues.
- Track status of uploaded invoices, research to identify issues and works with Billing Supervisor to address client deductions and other submission errors.
- Respond to requests for case estimates providing budgets, forecasts and historical profitability
- Assist Billing Supervisor to resolve errors through Bill Blast to achieve successful submissions.
- Perform other ad hoc duties as assigned
Skills and Educational Requirements - Must have in depth experience with E-Billing, preferably in a law firm environment.
- Minimum of 2 years legal E-Billing experience.
- Knowledge of Windows environment including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
- Must be able to work independently and prioritize work.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to write and communicate effectively, tactfully, and professionally with employees, clients, and attorneys.
- Knowledge of Aderant software preferred.
- Strong analytical and excel skills including the ability to review and interpret reports.
- Experience with online E-Billing vendors and Bill Blast highly preferred
For Westchester County, NY the expected hourly wages for this position is between $28.00 and $33.00. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
