We are open for theschool year from 6:30 am - 8:00 am and 3:00 pm - 5:30 pm after school. We are also open from6:30am - 5:30pm, for non-school days/breaks.RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:Receives children and records daily arrival time; reviews the physical/emotional condition to ensure the child's well being.Establishes and maintains effective communication and working relationships with various entities such as students, parents, teachers and school administrators.Sets up and implements daily before and after school activities.Ability to implement program activities as well as participate in those activities.Ability to be on time and follow through with responsibilities.Ability to serve as a positive role model for students.Ability to anticipate problems and take preventive action.Ability to create a collaborative working environment.Ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, staff, teachers, and administration.KNOWLEDGE OF:How to relate well with students.Understanding and ability to meet developmental needs of preschool and school age students.Knowledge and skill in childcare /child development, including what students are capable of a different age levels.Knowledge of safety and emergency procedures.Knowledge of students and activities that will get the child to use both their skills and imagination.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The following duties are normal for this position. Other duties may be required and assigned.Maintaining accurate records.Documentation of incident reports.Assist team leaders or teachers while implementing during Summer program and activities.Develop positive relationships and communicate effectively with school staff, custodians, food service staff, teachers, principals, school secretaries, guidance counselors, and supervisors.Greet parents and students when they arrive and leave.Communicate student behaviors with parents on a daily basis.Maintain confidentiality of student information.Maintain a clean, sanitary, orderly, and safe environment.Utilize space effectively to meet the needs of students.Maintain appropriate child/staff ratios at all times.Follow Food Safety/Sanitation guidelines when preparing and distributing snacks.Performs other duties assigned.OTHER REQUIREMENTS:High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred.Successful completion of criminal background investigation.Ability to complete required training within 90 days of hire.
