Overview:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. This position will focus on instructional coaching the teachers in Early Childhood Education Department in a way that will focus on the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

Responsibilities:
- Engage teachers in dialogue regarding student performance data and assist them in planning differentiated instruction.
- Provide comprehensive instructional coaching in early childhood education
- Collaborate with teachers and provide specific strategies for improved instructional delivery in learning center-based instruction
- Serve as a resource for identifying appropriate research-based instructional strategies and interventions to improve achievement for students in Pre-school. Specific emphasis will be placed on appropriate strategies for improving the academic achievement of English Language Learners (ELLs) and students with disabilities
- Support teachers by providing feedback on lessons and assessments that align with the Utah Common Core State Standards and the Creative Curriculum
- Provide professional development resources and materials to support Preschool teachers, Teacher Assitants, and related service providers.
- Provide expert advice to teachers on improving and enhancing individual lessons and units based on ongoing analysis. This will include, but is not limited to:
- Reviewing lesson plans, unit plans and assessments
- Understanding the program curriculum
- Observing classroom instruction and offering comprehensive analysis and feedback
- Conducting demonstrations and modeling lessons for classroom teachers
- Engaging teachers in dialogue regarding student performance data and assisting them in planning differentiated instruction
- Support the development of curriculum and advise pacing
- Cultivate a standards-based, data and results-oriented culture
- Make recommendations on best practices for supporting curricular alignment across all classrooms
- Collaborate with other Preschool Administration in determining appropriate resources and support for teachers
- Administer the PEEP standardized test at the beginning and end of the school year
- Collaborate with the teachers to develop and implement plans designed to assist struggling students
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- CDA or Associates in early childhood education, human services, social services, equivalent or combination of equivalent education and experience
- Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age
- Three or more years of preschool teaching experience
- Experience implementing play-based curriculum
- Ability to assess and direct programs and staff based upon need, feedback, and changing environment
- CPR/First Aid required
- Must pass a background check and obtain fingerprint clearance

Posted Salary Range:USD $18.05 - USD $22.57 /Hr.
