Position provides Specialized Skills Training and Service Coordination in the Early Childhood Intervention program. Responsibilities include:
- Assisting with the Initial, Annual and all subsequent assessments/evaluations for children from birth to 3 years of age.
- Participate in the development of the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) for enrolling eligible children into early intervention services.
- Provide service coordination and targeted case management to children and their families.
- Assists parents with transition to the local education agency or program for typically developing children as identified on the child's IFSP.
- Perform public awareness and child find activities throughout the year.
Must be willing to do extensive travel in Hunt, Hopkins, Lamar, and Delta counties to client's home.Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Development, Early Care and Early Childhood, Early Childhood Special or Human Development and Family Studies, Education. Transcript of degree coursework must reflect successful completion of at least nine semester course credit hours relevant to early childhood intervention and three semester course credit hours that focus on early childhood development or early childhood special education. Related fields include Psychology, Social Work Counseling, Special Education or Sociology. (Please attach your college transcript for review)
- Upon employment, the successful candidate who does not also hold current Texas licensure or certification in their respective field (e.g., LSW, RN, or EIS) must enter the Competency Demonstration System to become certified as an Early Intervention Specialist, and must obtain certification within one year of enrollment.
- Must have a valid Texas driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
- Must have personal automobile liability insurance as required by the state of Texas.
Preferred Requirements:
- Candidate should have working computer skills in MS Word and 1 year experience in a school or agency setting working with fragile, or who have specific developmental disabilities.
- Prefer ECI experience or working with the pediatric population.
