JOB RELATIONSHIPS
- Responsible to Cardiopulmonary Services Clinical Director.
DEFINITION OF POSITION
- An Echocardiography Technician who is responsible for performing echocardiograms, electrocardiograms and stress tests.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Professional
  - Demonstrates competence as an Echocardiography Technician.
  - Minimum of rotation in a program for cardiac ultrasound and knowledge of EKG testing and interpretation.
  - Familiarity with medical terminology.
  - Must strive to continue educational process either formal or inservice.
  - Knowledge of current trends and techniques.
  - Current BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
  - Good verbal / written skills.
- Working Conditions
  - Generally comfortable surroundings.
  - Extensive walking and standing.
  - Variable work hours expected (4-12 shifts).
  - Exposure to infectious diseases.
  - Exposure to radiation.
  - Moderate noise.
  - Exposure to air borne particles.
  - Exposure to caustic chemicals.
  - Risk of electrical shock.
