Job Summary
The eCommerce QA Lead will oversee the quality assurance processes for the organization's eCommerce platforms, ensuring seamless functionality, optimal performance, and exceptional user experience. The role requires expertise in eCommerce systems, web services testing, testing methodologies, and team leadership. This individual will collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality software releases.
Key Responsibilities
- QA Leadership:
- Lead the QA team in planning, executing, and managing testing activities for eCommerce projects.
- Develop and enforce QA best practices and ensure adherence to established standards.
- Mentor and train junior QA team members.
- Testing Strategy & Execution:
- Define and implement test strategies, plans, and cases for eCommerce applications, including back-end, integrations, and APIs.
- Acts as a SME on web services testing
- Conduct functional, regression, performance, and user acceptance testing.
- Implement and manage automation testing frameworks to streamline testing processes.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with product owners, developers, and designers to understand project requirements and user stories.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve defects promptly.
- Communicate QA results, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Process Improvement:
- Continuously evaluate and improve QA processes, tools, and technologies.
- Stay updated on industry trends and integrate emerging QA practices into the workflow.
- Documentation:
- Maintain detailed documentation of test plans, test cases, and test results.
- Create and maintain QA dashboards to track progress and metrics.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field highly desired.
- 8+ years of experience in QA, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior role in an eCommerce environment.
- Proven experience in leading and mentoring QA teams.
Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of eCommerce technologies.
- Expertise in testing methodologies for RESTful APIs, SOAP, and XML.
- Proficiency in tools like JUnit, TestNG, Selenium, Postman, and SoapUI.
- Knowledge of automation frameworks and scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Groovy) and SQL syntax.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
