- JOB SUMMARY
- Performs a combination of direct patient care at the ED Technician level while simultaneously coordinating patient experience best practices in the ED. Provide supervision of the ED Tech workforce and participate in onboarding and education of all ED employees.
- JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Education and/or Experience: Minimum EMT-B or CNA. Proof of training and licensure required upon hire and annually with review. Current certification in BLS required. Prior experience in an emergency medicine setting preferred, equivalent job experience will be considered.Knowledge: Knowledge of scope of practice in a hospital setting according to State regulations. Knowledge of sterile techniques and special procedures that are applicable to work performed. Knowledge of sanitation, personal hygiene and basic health and safety precautions in the treatment of patients. Knowledge of patient experience best practices necessary.Skills: Must have organizational skills. Excellent oral and written communication plus active listening skills are required. Exemplary telephone etiquette is also necessary.Abilities: Ability to provide and role model excellent customer service and communicate clearly in a positive manner with patients, families, visitors, health care team, physicians, administrators, leadership and others. Ability to maintain a positive and open attitude toward change as well as implement performance improvement efforts. Maintains emotional maturity by establishing and maintaining effective working relationships. Ability to independently seek out resources and work collaboratively. Ability to conduct needs assessment using a variety of strategic tools. Ability to use computer and multiple forms of software applications. Ability to continuously prioritize, multi-task, and organize efficiently and effectively. Ability to document and communicate pertinent information using computer and paper documentation tools. Ability to think critically and problem solve while remaining focused and organized.
