  • Acts as primary liaison for MBE students, providing counsel and advice, coordinating problem solving with faculty, preparing and submitting supporting materials for further study, scholarships, and other opportunities, and ensuring that all requirements are met for graduation
  • Drafts and sends weekly update and other communications for MBE students.
  • Manages MBE Canvas site for student access to program information, events, and networking opportunities.
  • Plans and coordinates student events including Orientation, Coffee Talks, Fridays at 4, Capstone Symposium, and Graduation
  • Serves as member of the Master's program managers group, sharing cross program information and developing shared opportunities. Shares agenda with Education Team prior to meeting in order to strategize MBE administrator attendance.
MBE Course Management/Curriculum Delivery and Oversight
  • Coordinates and implements administrative processes for onboarding MBE course instructors. Assists with training, communication, and problem-solving.
  • Updates course offerings in my.harvard and oversees advising and registration processes, responds to inquiries, and approves cross-registration petitions.
  • Manages scheduling of rooms for courses, ensures Canvas sites are prepared and published, and assists with library reserves.
  • Gathers and maintains data for and assists in preparing assessments and reports
  • Participates in periodic external advisory committee visits, assists in drafting required reports for the committee.
Fellowship in Bioethics:
  • Coordinates and has direct administrative responsibility for the Fellowship (in-person and Online fellowship) program(s) working closely with the Fellowship Director(s).
  • This includes coordinating the Fellowship Welcome Dinner, visiting lecturers (including travel reimbursements and logistics), creating and updating Canvas site, ensuring room reservations and catering, and maintaining communication with the Fellows.
Responsible Conduct of Research:
  • Coordinates and supports the Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) program in collaboration with the program director(s).
  • Update offerings in the Harvard Training Portal, track attendance, and prepare reports on program participation.
Additional Education Team Responsibilities: As a member of the Education Team, the coordinator manages and assists with educational programs and events. We expect the coordinator to leverage opportunities to build relationships and share information about the Master's, Fellowship and RCR programs. This person should be a team-player and willing to assist in efforts to support the overall success of education programs at the Center.
  • Supports MBE and Fellowship Recruitment and Admissions efforts.
  • Prepares and submits supporting materials for further study, scholarships and opportunities
  • Coordinates and implements special projects identified by the Associate Director of Education.
  • Gathers and maintains data for and assists in preparing reports, presentation, and other written materials, including letters of recommendation and notifies supervisor of unusual situations.
  • Partners with Education Team to coordinate and organize alumni contacts, and contributes to ideas of implementing an alumni network, organizes reunion meetings, and prepares for future celebratory events.

Job Summary The primary role of the Education Coordinator is to coordinate all administrative aspects of the Master of Science in Bioethics and Fellowship in Bioethics programs. As the primary point of contact for students, fellows, and faculty participating in these programs, the Coordinator ensures courses, communications, and events are planned and executed. As a member of the Center for Bioethics Education Team, the coordinator assists with aspects of the Responsible Conduct of Research program for post-doctoral trainees at HMS and participates in planning and execution for various events such as Incoming students' day, Capstone Symposium, Fellowship dinners, and reunions. Work Format Details This is a hybrid position that is based in Massachusetts. Additional details will be discussed during the interview process. All remote work must be performed within one of the Harvard Registered Payroll States, which currently includes Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, Washington, and California (CA for exempt positions only).
