DescriptionLocation: Summerville, SC, US - Doors to Freedom, located in Summerville, SC, is in search of a dedicated Education Instructor to become a valuable member of our team. As an Education Instructor, you will have a pivotal role in supporting our Director, motivating students, and nurturing a passion for learning. Join us in making a positive impact in the lives of the young girls we support, and be a part of a team that prioritizes progress and empathy. Compensation: $44,800.Responsibilities•Assists the Education Director with the maintenance of the record keeping system of grades, inventory, attendance, and permanent records.•Assists the Education Director with Academic Advisement sessions with each student bi-annually, as needed.•Creates or orders curriculum as directed by the Education Director.•Attends the annual accreditation meeting hosted by Grace Association of Private Schools.•Assists the Education Director with the completion of Case Notes - [PRG03] and turns in to the Program Director weekly.•Assists the Education Director with the completion of Education Intake, to include Educational Diagnostic Assessments, Learning Style Assessments, and acclimating to HER Academy expectations.•Assists the Education Director with the assignment of classes and paces to ensure each resident meets the requirements for successful completion of South Carolina Education Standards.•Assists residents in their classwork and problem solves with residents to address areas of struggle (i.e. tutoring, teaching new study habits).•Ensures HER Academy is providing opportunities for residents to learn by different learning styles through the scheduling of quarterly field trips and the application of projects, writing assignments, reading assignments, etc. as directed by the Education Director.•Assists the Education Director with the completion and presentation of the Education Section of the Individualized Growth Plan [PRG07] and Individualized Growth Plan Evaluation [PRG07-1].•Maintains sensitivity to residents' socioeconomic and cultural background.•Assists the Education Director with the completion of the Education Section in weekly staffings.•Assists the Education Director with proctoring Iowa Standardized Testing in the fall and spring.•Participates in Doors to Freedom's Inclement Weather and Disaster Plan and follows assignments provided by the Executive Director or Operations Director.•Fulfills other duties as assigned.QualificationsRequired: Bachelor's degree in Education or related field* and one years experience in management or supervision of child care personnel, a child care program or a related field required; or Associates degree in above fields and two years experience in management or supervision of child care personnel, a child care program or a related field. •Bilingual proficiency in English/Spanish (not required, but beneficial)•Flexibility to work weekends and evenings, if needed•Proficient in Microsoft Office SuiteNote: *If the degree is not in Education or the applicant is not certified, the Education Director will be required to pass the PRAXIS test Principles of Learning and Teaching for Grades 7-12.
