Functions and DutiesEssential Functions and Duties:
- Researches, develops, and implements all educational programming
- Directs or assists in onsite training/supervision of full-time and part-time program staff, riding staff, seasonal camp staff and volunteers
- Secures and trains volunteers to assist with programs and reports all site or trail maintenance needs to appropriate staff
- Plans and coordinates training for interpretive programs
- Oversees special events by securing volunteers, assigning staff, and coordinating set-up/take-down
- Gives presentations at various venues and large public outreach events
- Develops, implements, and evaluates all programs, including Summer Camp, as well as hiring and training of staff, curriculum development and delivery, and field trip planning
- Performs administrative office duties including reporting, filing, data management, and organization
- Collaborate with maintenance and barn staff in preparing and maintaining arenas and grounds for shows, lessons, events, programs, and other riding activities
- Directs staff and patrons in proper horsemanship
- Pursues collaborations and partnerships with BREC and non-BREC entities to enhance the mission and goals of the Special Interest division
- Produces monthly reports summarizing visitation, revenue, and program participation
- Assists with budget planning
- Performs other duties as assigned
- This position may vary based on programs across a variety of genres including any one of the following: Community Recreation, Special Facilities, and/or CORE
Secondary Job Duties:
- Maintains tack and other riding equipment through routine inspection and inventory
- Assists in ensuring health and safety of horses and program participants according to Farr Equestrian Center policies and procedures
- Provides evaluation and recommendations to management team on fitness of horses for BREC equestrian program
