Egg Route Driver - MO (Non-CDL)Job SummaryThe Egg Route Driver supports our operation by transporting eggs and assisting with related logistics. This role requires flexibility in start times and shift lengths during the busy season. The Egg Route Driver will contribute to maintaining our high standards of customer service and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities:
  • Transportation and Delivery:
    • Drive the designated egg route, ensuring timely pickups and drop-offs.
    • Transport Amish laborers (typically two individuals) to and from their locations.
    • Deliver empty totes/boxes and flats to farms as needed.
  • Egg Collection and Documentation:
    • Assist in loading/unloading egg crates at farms along the route.
    • Accurately log egg case details, including breed, quantity, and number of empty totes delivered or picked up.
    • Ensure egg crates are securely fastened using provided straps.
  • Biosecurity Compliance:
    • Follow biosecurity protocols, including spraying vehicle tires when entering and exiting farm boundaries.
  • Vehicle Operations and Maintenance:
    • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safe operation.
    • Maintain cleanliness of the assigned vehicle and perform minor service tasks.
    • Report any mechanical faults, damages, or incidents to management.
  • Equipment Handling:
    • Use electric or manual pallet jacks for loading/unloading eggs.
    • Operate under alternative transfer methods (e.g., manual handling) if necessary due to equipment or weather issues.
  • Additional Duties:
    • Complete all paperwork accurately and promptly.
    • Adhere to traffic laws and company policies, including no smoking in vehicles.
    • Respond to Thermo King alarms on an on-call basis.
    • Perform other related tasks as requested by management.
Qualifications:
  • Education and Experience:
    • High School diploma or equivalent (preferred).
    • At least 18 years of age.
    • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Proficiency in English for communication, record-keeping, and safety compliance.
    • Physical ability to lift and move items weighing up to 60 lbs.
  • Competencies:
    • Strong customer service skills with a team-oriented mindset.
    • Open to feedback and committed to continuous improvement.
    • Flexible and adaptable to changing schedules or duties.
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to sit, stand, or drive for extended periods, including during nighttime shifts.

Work Environment:This position involves working in variable conditions, including outdoor environments at farms and loading docks. Must comply with all safety and biosecurity measures to protect self, coworkers, and farm properties.
