TAMKO Building Products LLC is seeking a EH&S Coordinator for its manufacturing facility in Phillipsburg, Kansas. The EH&S Coordinator is responsible for health and safety activities in industrial plants or at environmental sites by evaluating and controlling safety and environmental hazards.

Summary of essential job functions

* On site coordinator of all air, water, waste, and regulatory permits. Mentors operators, managers, and engineers on the specific requirements or applicable permits.

* Work with application development staff to develop database architectures, coding standards, and quality assurance policies and procedures.

* Coordinate with EPA, Kansas Department of Health & Environment, City of Phillipsburg, while under the supervision of the General Manager, Legal Counsel, and the Corporate Environmental Department representative.

* Conducts daily, weekly, and monthly site inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

* Conducts EPA Method 9 emissions testing (emissions opacity readings). Maintains certification biannually.

* Develops procedures to reduce emissions risks and to maintain environmental control equipment.

* Serves as a certified Radiation Safety Officer.

* Serves as a Subject Matter Expert for designed function of environmental control equipment throughout the facility.

* Advise maintenance and engineering departments on critical repairs of equipment and act as process engineer for the equipment.

* Advises General Manager on all permits and status of compliance with permits

Preference

* Degree in Environmental Science or Engineering.

* While performing the duties of this Job, the employee may work around moving mechanical parts, at elevated heights, where dusts and fumes could be present in the air, with or in proximity to chemicals, in hot environments, around electrical equipment, and in a loud environment. The employee must have the ability to understand and mitigate these and other risks, including by following all prescribed safety rules, and must have the ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment, if necessary.
