This role will also include developing, implementing and maintaining effective HSE programs, conducting safety orientation training, inspections, writing work plans, and other EHS management duties.
This position is based in Houston, Texas.
The position will require 75% travel to various project sites across the US.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the EHS teams in the US offices and projects
- Advise and collaborate with the production managers in the implementation of the HSE manual and Safety programs, identifying the legal requirements, as well as the requirements of the client.
- Develop and administer the facility EHS Management Systems.
- Develops, issues and maintains safety standards/policies and procedures consistent with corporate and regulatory compliance requirements to reduce the risk of workplace injury/illness and minimize overall liability.
- The role entails responsibility for the management of safety technicians and supervisors on sites, encompassing the management of both internal and external personnel.
- Facilitate compliance with facility, regional, corporate and regulatory environmental and safety standards and policies through audits, inspections, recordkeeping and data documentation.
- Perform and document jobsite audits and/or observations in all the project sites, to control the work conditions, as a tool for the continuous updating of the risks in the work, proposing corrective measures to solve the anomalies detected.
- Work on various reports directly to the Global Corporate Safety Manager about EHS in different status in all project sites.
- Assume the role of HSE Supervisor when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- OSHA 30 certification (required)Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar certification preferred.In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST), or similar are preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in EHS management within a manufacturing environment.
- Two years of experience in managing safety technicians on site, including the management of both internal and external personnel.
- Proven ability to develop and implement effective EHS programs.
- Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills.
- proficiency in report writing and record-keeping.
- Proficiency in using HSE management software and tools.
- Knowledge of ISO 45001 Security Management System (desirable).
