Position Overview: We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced
EHS/PSM Specialist III. This role is responsible for leading environmental, health, and safety efforts within the organization, coordinating site-wide Process Safety Management (PSM) activities, driving process safety improvements, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, local, and corporate EHS policies. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise to identify and mitigate risks, oversee compliance programs, and enhance safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:- EHS Project Review & Risk Mitigation: Represent EHS in project reviews, identify and resolve regulatory issues, and establish protective measures to mitigate hazards and ensure safety compliance.
- Process Safety Management: Manage PSM information systems, interpret regulations, develop written programs, track performance metrics, and facilitate training.
- Hazard Analysis: Conduct Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and Dust Hazard Analysis (DHA), manage the site schedule, and maintain all relevant documentation.
- Compliance & Program Management: Review PSM documentation, collaborate with site operations and leadership to implement essential program elements, and provide regulatory interpretations.
Requirements
Qualifications:- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Natural Sciences, or Occupational Safety and Health.
- Experience:
- 5 years of experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS).
- At least 3 years in Process Safety Management (PSM).
- Certifications: Certified PHA Facilitator, Certified ISO 14001/45001 Lead Auditor.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Knowledgeable in PSM, RMP, OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and ISO 14001/45001 standards.
- Ability to read and interpret Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
- Skilled in creating and delivering employee training on safety topics.
- Community Involvement: Ability to represent the company at community meetings, demonstrating strong communication skills and a commitment to safety.
