This job function works within a team of outstanding electrical, mechanical, optical, firmware, and reliability engineers to design, prototype, qualify and transfer to production various high reliability fault tolerant circuit boards QualificationsStrong interest in electrical design and using analytical skills to tackle challenging assignmentsStrong interest in learning circuit techniques that pass environmental, safety, EMI and EMC testingStrong interest in working with circuit board prototypes, electrical components, electrical circuit test instruments and measurement techniquesStrong technical presentation and writing skillsSome experience with one or more of the following areas is extremely desirableDesign and testing of analog and digital circuits and schematicsDesign of op-amp and transistor circuits for detection/amplification/filtering of Design of analog and digital control loops, with DACs, ADCs, logic devices processors, and with use of I2C, SPI, RS-232 busesDesign of transimpedance and log amp circuits for use with photodiode detection of optical signalsDesign with schematic capture tools and standard methods for design of PCB assembliesFamiliarity with PCB fabrication and assembly processesFamiliarity with developing test procedures and writing Manufacturing Testing RequirementsFamiliarity with developing products using a formal product realization processFamiliarity with selection of circuit board components based on reliability, availability, cost, performanceFamiliarity with designing experiments, evaluating circuit performance, analyzing dataFamiliarity with troubleshooting, using experimental and laboratory skillsFamiliarity with CVI or other software for creating GUIs to help with DVT and firmware integrationFamiliarity with peer design and DFMEA reviewsFamiliarity with OrCad, Labview, Spice/Pspice, C/C++, PythonFamiliarity with writing firmware requirements and integrating firmware into a new circuit assemblyFamiliarity with fiber optic components such as couplers, WDMs, filters, photodiodes, lasers, modulators, EDFAsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills. Articulates thoughts and ideas clearly, concisely, and persuasively. Writes English well.
