Location: Sagle, Idaho Salary: $125,000-$180,000 Industry: Idaho Utility Overview: We are seeking an Electrical Engineer (or experienced Electrical Technician) to join our team. Located in the beautiful Idaho panhandle, our headquarters in Sagle, Idaho, offers easy access to outdoor recreation, including water sports, skiing, hiking, biking, and more. We serve northern Idaho, northwest Montana, and parts of northeast Washington, with 21,000 metered accounts and a 4.5 MW hydroelectric generation project. Key Responsibilities: Engineering Design: Lead projects that support and maintain the electrical systems, designing detailed drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for distribution and transmission systems, including substations. Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, providing engineering support across disciplines as needed. System Support: Maintain operations of the hydroelectric project, providing necessary documentation, reporting, and inspections. Technical Expertise: Conduct system studies including load flow, short circuit/arc-flash, and power factor analysis, and make recommendations based on findings. SCADA and Protection Systems: Maintain and program system protection settings (Form6, SEL, Basler) and implement SCADA configurations. Field Inspections: Support supplemental field inspections and operations, such as infrared inspection of substation and field devices. Training & Communication: Conduct internal training and effectively communicate technical information to management and team members. Compliance: Ensure compliance with NEC, NESC, RUS, and Cooperative standards, while staying updated on industry trends. Outage Response: Assist in major storm/damage outage responses and afterhours duty coverage (3-5 weeks per year). Education & Experience: BS in Electrical Engineering preferred, with 5+ years of electrical distribution experience (public or cooperative utility experience preferred). Or, a degree in a related field with 8-10 years of experience in electrical engineering and power distribution. Licensing & Certifications: Valid Idaho driver's license (or ability to obtain one). Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not required. Work Environment: Office environment with occasional fieldwork involving energized electrical facilities, substations, and distribution lines. Travel required within and outside the service area, including varying weather conditions and terrain. Physical Requirements: Ability to sit, stand, walk, and drive for extended periods. Occasionally required to move objects up to 50 pounds. #LI-ST1
