Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer for the OETS supporting the Navy Division.

The Senior Electrical Engineer will be a key player in the Navy Divisions growth and execution strategy.

JOB DETAILS

LOCATION: Ventura, CA

JOB STATUS: Full Time provided that the Customer awards sufficient work to support full-time employment

TRAVEL: Up to 5%

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:

  • A minimum of a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering;
  • A minimum of ten years experience in design and development of advanced equipment for use in the deep ocean, including ocean engineering instrumentation, undersea electro-acoustic systems, and power generation/transmission/distribution equipment
  • A minimum of six years experience in telemetry and controls, supervisory and automatic control systems, microprocessors, sensors, displays, and systems for processing acoustic surveillance array data
  • A minimum of four years experience in underwater electric field detection and measurement, safety and related equipment
  • Security Clearance: Must be a US Citizen. A Top Secret c1earance based on an T5 investigation and deemed eligible for SCI access

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The contractor shall participate with NAVFAC EXWC in the review of accelerometer based expendable penetrometer systems and the acoustic telemetry system necessary to transmit the data.
  • The contractor shall participate with NAVFAC EXWC in the design, fabrication, test, delivery and maintenance of XDP portable and rack mount shipsets as required by Navy Customers
  • The contractor shall assist NAVFAC EXWC by providing guidance and navigation control design and software solutions for undersea vehicles including autonomous systems

SALARY RANGE: Estimated $140,000 USD/anually depending on experience.
